Don’t Move,
Improve Plan

You cannot build a thriving community on streets that are not maintained. Cleanliness is dignity.

CD9 Groundworks will deploy 24-hour rapid response cleanup teams across five neighborhood zones, handling illegal dumping, graffiti, and blight in real time. We will add sidewalk repairs, improved lighting, neighborhood ambassadors, and monthly community cleanups. Every position will be locally hired.

Clean, safe streets for everyone, everyday.

A local economy built for ownership, not just employment

South LA residents deserve more than jobs. They deserve a stake in the economy growing around them.

We will expand small business incubators and community mercados, protect street vendors, train 1,000 new local entrepreneurs, and open pathways to capital through grants, loans, and seed funding. City contracts will prioritize businesses rooted here, keeping dollars circulating in our community.

A green jobs corridor that brings industry back

South LA has industrial land sitting idle. That is not a problem. It is an opportunity.

We will modernize our three industrial corridors into engines of green manufacturing, clean energy, and advanced production, with workforce training tied directly to the jobs created. Companies that hire locally receive incentives. Vacant land becomes economic infrastructure.

Housing that keeps families rooted

You should not have to leave the neighborhood you built to afford a home.

We will build affordable housing on city-owned land, launch community land trusts and resident co-ops, and support first-time buyers. We will cut red tape on ADUs so families can expand housing on existing lots, with grants and financing to make it real. Strong tenant protections will back it all up.

Central Avenue as a cultural and economic spine

Central Avenue built Los Angeles. It deserves to be a corridor of pride and prosperity again.

We will invest in Central Avenue as a community-led cultural and economic corridor with local housing, retail, mercados, artist support, murals, festivals, and transit improvements. Growth here should reflect who we are, not erase it.

South LA Wetlands: a tech and innovation campus for us

Every community deserves a place to prepare for the future. This is ours.

We will transform the South LA Wetlands into a tech, media, and creative job training campus with a business accelerator, coworking space, childcare, a food court, farmers market, green jobs programming, and recreation spaces. Built for our community and owned by our community.
